PR Tactics 3830 Blog 6

I am attracted to pursuing PR because I enjoy telling stories and writing persuasively. I am a natural born storyteller; I have always enjoyed telling stories as a way to engage with people. I also have a passion for persuasion and winning people over. In PR, I love being persuasive in my writing and promoting things I truly love because I love influencing people. I believe that stories truly do connect people and I am a huge proponent in establishing relationships with people. Moreover, I even love thinking creatively to find efficient PR campaigns. For instance, in my PR internship, I assisted with press releases and I conducted research for a target audience. What drew me the most was my love for conducting research. I love to gather information about someone or something and then coming up with a conclusion. Gathering information is where my true inner detective comes into play. However, one has to be careful in the world of PR so that misinformation doesn’t spread by mistake....

PR Tactics 3830 Blog Post Article

Hi, my name is Katelyn, and I am a senior communications major at Harding University. This semester my blog is going to explore the ins and outs of PR and I cannot wait to explore more of PR through my blog posts. I worked in PR this past summer and it was the best time ever, in which I learned some excellent PR skills. For my PR blog article, I chose Social Listening 101: What It Is and Why It Matters, which I found to be incredibly fascinating. One has to be so meticulous when crafting a message because it is so easy for misinformation to spread rapidly. Another point I found to be conducive was that analyzes the consumers’ wants and needs. This is so key to building an effective audience that wants the...

PR 3830 Ways to Reach Gen Z

Gen Z is such a complex and diverse group of people that is the most difficult to reach due to technological advances in phones and social media. They are the group that was way too young to understand how landlines work and basic phones as well. It really piques my interest how financial security is such a common asset when it comes to seeking a job. Moreover, it is even more fascinating that what draws a Gen Z consumer to a business is the story which is pretty captivating. It shows that people truly are affected by the business’s social media accounts because the younger audience leans more towards stories. Also, they are more educated on technology than the older generation which is interesting. I find it captivating that millennials prefers a fun workspace environment when it comes to job security but with Gen Z- ers it is financial security. This goes to demonstrate how Gen Z people are definitely all about the money . With inflation costs rising, I can see the financial ...

Being Ethical with Information in the PR World COMM 3830

When scouring this article on ethical dilemmas in the PR world, the author Jason Mollica was passionate about upholding ethical standards as a PR professional. What came to my mind is that we do have to be careful with sharing information in the PR world especially in the age of social media. In social media, information can get misunderstood extremely quickly, which is unfortunate. PR professionals also need to be cautious to review details meticulously and to fact check their sources to ensure correct information is given. I have not faced any PR ethical challenges because I haven't had much experience working PR except my remote PR internship this past summer. Any of the problems listed in the article are not surprising because I feel like these happen regularly on a daily basis. It is truly common in social media for misunderstandings to occur and for information to feel inaccurate. Even I had to be prudent with what I posted on Instagram because once it's out there, i...
